Blue Hawks Claim NSAA Football Awards

DICKINSON, N.D. –  The 2017 Dacotah Bank/North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Football All-Conference Teams were announced Monday by the conference office.  The All-Conference teams and postseason awards were voted by the league coaches.

Head Coach Pete Stanton was voted as the league Coach-of-the-Year after guiding his Blue Hawk football team to the third consecutive NSAA conference title outright and a spot in the NAIA Football Championship Series with a No. 13 final regular-season national ranking. This is Stanton's third consecutive year receiving the honor. In his four years at the helm of the program Stanton has compiled a total record of 33-12.

Thomas Sease, a senior from Bismarck, was named the Defensive player of the year for the North Star. Throughout the season Sease had compiled 71 tackles, 2 sacks, and three interceptions.

Nine Blue Hawks were also named to the NSAA All-Conference First-Team:

Jeff Fisher, a Junior from Baker, Montana, and Sease's selection to the First-Team marks their third straight year receiving the award.
