DICKINSON, ND- Senior, Jacob Gondrezick, connected on two free throws to lock in the win for the Blue Hawks over Presentation College Wednesday night on Senior Night.
Six Dickinson State University Men's Basketball seniors played their last game in Scott Gymnasium on Wednesday night and pulled out a thrilling win. The six seniors include Billy Engel, Jacob Gondrezick, Curtis Redd, Roybell Baez, Julian Vasquez and Kolbi Selby. Four year manager, Nathaniel Easton, also received recognition for his dedication to the Blue Hawk Men's Basketball program.
The Blue Hawks shot 41 percent from the field and 27 percent from three in the first half to take a 46-38 lead into halftime while the Saints shot 43 percent from the line and 13 percent from three.
The Saints rallied back to tie the game up with under 30 seconds remaining in the game when Gondrezick hit two free throws after a technical foul was called on the Saints for taunting following the game tying three pointer. The Saints were unable to get a shot off in the final seconds.
Dickinson State finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field, 17 percent from three and 81 percent from the line with 52 rebounds, seven assists, 15 turnovers, three blocks and eight steals.
Presentation College finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field, 28 percent from three and 56 percent from the line with 41 rebounds, nine assists, 13 turnovers, one block and six steals.
Frank Cimino led the Saints with 29 points, Donnell Minton recorded 19 and Tre Erby finished with 17 points in the loss.
The Blue Hawks are now 13-14 overall and 6-6 in NSAA play while the Saints fall to 11-15 overall and 3-11 in NSAA play.
Dickinson State will finish their NSAA regular season on Saturday at Dakota State University. Post-season information will be released early next week.
