MADISON, SD- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team dropped their final regular season game at Dakota State on Saturday, 83-51.
The Blue Hawks largest lead of the game, 2 points, came with 15:31 minutes remaining in the first half while the Trojans largest lead in the game came with 19 seconds remaining in the game when they were up by 32 points.
The Trojans took a 42-32 lead into halftime after shooting 47 percent from the field, 40 percent from three and 89 percent from the line while the Blue Hawks shot 38 percent from the field, 25 percent from three and 57 percent from the line in the first half.
Dakota State completely took over the second half, outscoring the Blue Hawks 41-19. The Trojans finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field, 39 percent from three and 71 percent from the line with 51 rebounds, 21 assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and five steals.
Dickinson State finished the game shooting 28 percent from the field, 21 percent from three and 45 percent from the line with 47 rebounds, 11 assists, 15 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals.
Reggie Fields Jr. was the lone Blue Hawk to score in double figures with 10 points.
Kyle Kilgore led the Trojans with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Adam Hofer added 15 points while Tanner Heiser finished with 11 points in the win.
The Blue Hawks finish their regular season with an overall record of 13-15 and 6-7 in NSAA play while the Trojans finish 16-13 overall and 10-4 in NSAA play.
Dickinson State will travel to the University of Jamestown on Wednesday, February 24th to take on the Jimmies at 2:00 PM (MDT) in the first round of the NSAA Tournament.
