DENVER, CO- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team fell to the Doane University Tigers on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match-up in the Johnson & Wales Classic held on the campus of Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado.
Doane led the Blue Hawks at halftime with a score of 43-39 and tied Dickinson State 33-33 in the second half to earn the win with a final score of 76-72.
The Blue Hawks were led by junior Marcus White with 24 points. No other Blue Hawk scored in double figures for the game. Junior Ryan Clark led the Blue Hawks in the rebounding department with a total of 7 rebounds. Jake Buck led the Blue Hawks with 6 total assists for the game.
Doane University had four players record double digits in scoring and one player with eight rebounds.
Dickinson State shot 49 percent from the field, 25 percent from three and 68 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded 39 rebounds, 13 assists, 17 turnovers, 2 blocks and 2 steals in the loss.
The Tigers from Doane University shot 42 percent from the field, 42 percent from three and 71 percent from the free throw line. Doane finished the game with 26 rebounds, 12 assists, 8 turnovers, 0 blocks and 8 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 1-2 and 0-0 NSAA and return home on Saturday, November 5th as they host Montana Tech at 6:00p.m. (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
