Blue Hawks come back to top Rocky Mountain College, 88-84

DICKINSON, ND – The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball team fought to a 88-84 non-conference win over the Rocky Mountain College Bears behind a great overall team effort on Thursday night.

The Blue Hawks trailed Rocky Mountain College at halftime with a score of 46-38 and the Blue Hawks outscored the Bears in the second half with a 50-38 score to win the contest with a final score of 88-84.

The Blue Hawks were led in the scoring department by juniors Marcus White and Terrell Butler with 21 points each. Junior Jerry Shelvin and senior Jake Buck also scored in double digits for the Blue Hawks. Marcus White led the Blue Hawks with 10 total rebounds followed by senior Gilberto Shojgreen Jr. with 6 total rebounds.  Juniors Jerry Shevlin and Marcus White led the Blue Hawks with a total of 3 assists each for the game.

Rocky Mountain College had four players score in double digits and had one player with eight rebounds.

Dickinson State shot 48 percent from the field, 37 percent from three and 66 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded a total of 43 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 blocks, 5 steals and 13 turnovers.

Rocky Mountain College shot 44 percent from the field, 45 percent from three and 73 percent from the free throw line. Rocky Mountain College recorded a total of 38 rebounds, 12 turnovers, 2 blocks and 4 steals.

The Blue Hawks are now 3-2 and 0-0 NSAA with their next contest on Wednesday, November 16th against Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. This game against the Beavers in an exhibition game. The Blue Hawks next home game will be on Tuesday, November 22nd as they host Yellowstone Christian College at 7:00p.m. (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
