Dickinson State downs Jimmies in NSAA Semifinal game

DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team defeated the University of Jamestown on Saturday afternoon in a NSAA Semifinal game by a score of 83-65.

Dickinson State took a 21 point lead into halftime with a score of 48-27.

The Blue Hawks shot 62 percent from the field, 44 percent from three and 8/8 on free throws in the first half.

The Jimmies shot 35 percent from the field, 29 percent from three and 63 percent from the line in the first half.

The University of Jamestown would outscore the Blue Hawks 38-35 in the second half but Dickinson State wins by a score of 83-65 to advance to the NSAA Tournament Championship game on Monday.

Dickinson State would finish the game shooting 56 percent from the field, 46 percent from three and 73 percent from the line while the Jimmies finished shooting 37 percent from the field, 27 percent from three and 75 percent from the line.

Marcus White led the Blue Hawks with 18 points while Dontae Clark finished with 11 and Gilberto Shojgreen Jr. ended with 10 points. White also hauled in 9 rebounds and finished with 3 assists.

Jacob Havron led the Jimmies with a double-double (18 points and 15 rebounds) while Logan Brown finished with 14 points and Jon Purintun tallied 13 points in the loss. 

The Blue Hawks finished with 37 rebounds, 11 assists, 13 turnovers, 3 blocks and 6 steals.

The Jimmies finished with 35 rebounds, 5 assists, 13 turnovers, 2 blocks and 5 steals.

The University of Jamestown finishes their season with a 18-14 record.

Dickinson State University (22-10 overall) will travel to Bellevue University on Monday to take on the Bruins in the NSAA Tournament Championship game at 6:00 PM (MDT).
