MADISON, S.D. – Marcus White of Dickinson State (N.D.) was selected to the sixth edition of the North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Marcus White – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 6'6" – Senior – Forward – Milwaukee, Wis.– White recorded 16 points (6-of-12 field goals including 4-of-5 from the 3-point line), 8 rebounds, 4 blocked shots, 2 assists and 2 steals in helping Dickinson State (N.D.) to a 78-53 home victory over Viterbo (Wis.).  He followed up with 30 points (10-of-16 field goals and 9-of-10 free-throws) and 4 rebounds as the Blue Hawks defeated Mayville State (N.D.) 82-71.  For the week, White averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  He was 16-of-28 from the field (57.1 percent), including 5-of-6 from the 3-point line and converted 9-of-10 free-throws.

Two teams are undefeated in North Star conference play after last weekend's games.  Waldorf (Iowa) extended their winning streak to three games after sweeping a pair of North Star conference games in North Dakota.  The Warriors posted a 71-68 upset victory over No. 18-ranked Jamestown (N.D.) on Dec. 8.  WU followed up with a 66-60 road victory at Valley City State (N.D.) on Dec. 9.  Waldorf improved to 6-7 overall record and 3-0 record in North Star conference play.

Jamestown snapped their losing skid on Dec. 9, earning their first North Star conference victory over Viterbo (Wis.) 103-93.  The Jimmies are 10-5 overall record and 1-3 NSAA conference record.

Dakota State (S.D.), receiving votes in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, was idle from North Star conference play last week.  The Trojans' four-game winning streak came to an end as they fell to No. 1-ranked Northwestern (Iowa) 111-74 on the road on Dec. 9.  Dakota State is 7-5 overall record and 2-0 NSAA conference record.

Dickinson State (N.D.) defeated Viterbo 78-53 on Dec. 8.  The Blue Hawks handed Mayville State (N.D.) its first North Star conference loss of the season on Dec. 9 by the score of 82-71.  Dickinson State raised their overall record to 6-4 and 3-1 NSAA conference record.  Viterbo dropped their overall record to 7-6 and 0-3 record in North Star conference games.

Mayville State held on to defeat Valley City State 74-65 on Dec. 8.  The Comets are 7-4 overall record and 3-1 NSAA conference record.  Valley City State, who defeated NCAA Division III Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) 74-57 earlier in the week, fell to 4-9 overall record and 0-3 record in NSAA.

Presentation (S.D.) went 2-0 record for the week, defeating Trinity Bible (N.D.) 91-53 on the road on Dec. 6.  The Saints also earned their first North Star conference win of the season after holding off Bellevue (Neb.) 79-73 on Dec. 9.  Presentation improved to 6-6 overall record and 1-2 NSAA conference record.  The Bruins, receiving votes in the national poll, 6-6 overall record after a forfeit victory over Grace (Neb.) which was scheduled for Dec. 12.  BU is 1-1 record in North Star conference play.
