MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced its fifth edition of the Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday. Tommy Sease of Dickinson State (N.D.) was selected as Field Athlete-of-the-Week, while Seth Boomsma of Dakota State (S.D.) was chosen as Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
North Star Athletic Association Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Tommy Sease – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Bismarck, N.D. – Sease of Dickinson State (N.D.) has an impressive showing in the Lyle Hokanson Classic Decathlon, hosted by NCAA Division I North Dakota State University. Throughout the two-day contest, he walked away with a career-best 6,060 points where he placed third overall. Sease also set season best in both the high jump and pole vault. He took first in discus. Sease recorded the following times/marks: 100-meter dash (11.94 seconds); long jump (5.85 meters – 19 feet, 2.5 inches), shot put (11.28 meters – 37 feet, 0.25 inches), high jump (1.82 meters – 5 feet, 11.5 inches), 400-meter dash (52.47 seconds), 110-meter hurdles (16.58 seconds), discus (37.10 meters – 121 feet, 9 inches), pole vault (3.70 meters – 121 feet, 5 inches), javelin (38.76 meters – 127 feet, 2 inches) and 1500-meter run (4 minutes, 37.26 seconds).

Seth Boomsma – Dakota State (S.D.) – Senior – Crooks, S.D. – Boomsma of Dakota State (S.D.) had stellar performances at the 89th Annual Kansas Relays, an NCAA Division I meet in Lawrence, Kan. He posted top-eight place finishes in the prelims on the first day of the meet, advancing to the finals in the prime-time races which was televised on ESPN3 on the evening of April 16. Boomsma placed fourth in the men's 100-meter dash finals in 10.49 seconds and third in the men's 200-meter dash finals in 21.39 seconds, edging out multiple professional athletes. He still holds the top times in both 100- and 200-meters in the NSAA conference.
Jamestown (N.D.) is scheduled to compete in the Concordia (Minn.) Twilight Meet in Moorhead, Minn. Tuesday (today).
Dakota State (S.D.) will travel to Simpson (Iowa) Friday to compete in the Kip Janvrin Open.
On Saturday, Jamestown hosts its own home meet – the Al Cassell Relays. Dickinson State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) are also scheduled to participate. Viterbo (Wis.) compete in the St. Mary's Open.
