Nick Walker Named Head Blue Hawk Track & Field Coach

DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Athletic Director, Tim Daniel, has announced Nick Walker will take over duties as the Head Men’s and Women’s Track & Field coach as of August 1, 2016.

“I am excited for the opportunity to coach an outstanding program and I am looking forward to continuing the traditions of Dickinson State University Track & Field,” stated Walker.

Nick graduated from Dickinson State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education.

Walker became the PE teacher and Bowman County High School until 2008. Walker was the girl's track coach and led the girls to a state championship.

Since 2008, Nick has been employed at Bismarck Century High School as the PE teacher for grades 9-12. At Bismarck Century, Walker was the head track coach for eight years and has won five state titles and being named "Coach of the Year" five times. Nick led the 2016 girl’s track team to a second place finish at state.

Along with the Head Track & Field coaching duties, Walker will also be the quarterbacks coach for the Blue Hawk football team and the Intramural Coordinator for Dickinson State University.

“Nick has done a great job coaching Track & Field at the high school level and we know that he will do an even better job as the Head Track & Field coach here at Dickinson State University,” stated Daniel.

Former DSU Head Track & Field Coach, Chris Creal, put in his letter of resignation on June 1, 2016.
