ABERDEEN, SD- The Dickinson State University Softball team lost the opening game of the series, 9-1, but bounced back for a 3-2 win over the Bruins.
Game 1: BU 9, DSU 1
Bellevue scored three runs in the top of the first while the Blue Hawks scored a run in the bottom of the first. BU answered back with one in the second, four in the third and one in the fifth to end the game 9-1 after five innings.
Dickinson State finished the game with one run on six hits with one error while Bellevue finished with nine runs on five hits with two errors.
Abigail Brooks took the loss going five innings allowing nine runs (eight earned) on five hits with nine walks and two strikeouts.
Game 2: DSU 3, BU 2
Bellevue score first in the second inning with one run but Dickinson State would take the lead in the third scoring two runs. BU tied the game in the fifth with a run while DSU plated the go ahead run in the sixth and held on to win 3-2.
Dickinson State finished with three runs on six hits with no errors while Bellevue finished with two runs on five hits with two errors.
Brianna Grayson led the Blue Hawks with two doubles and an RBI. Dillon added two hits and an RBI while Andrysiak and Gamboa finished with a hit in the win.
Jalen Creech picked up the win tossing seven innings allowing two runs on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
The Blue Hawks are now 3-5 overall and 2-2 in NSAA play.
Dickinson State will play Waldorf University on Sunday in a NSAA double-header in the Aberdeen Dome.
