
DICKINSON, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its Softball All-Conference and postseason awards Monday after the postseason conference tournament. The NSAA Softball All-Conference Teams and postseason awards were voted by the league coaches.
The 2017 NSAA All-Conference First Team consists of 20 selections. Bellevue (Neb.), Jamestown (N.D.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) each recorded four selections on the first-team.
The North Star also announced its 9-member Gold Glove team for displaying their outstanding defensive performance.
In NSAA postseason awards, Kelli Fisher of Bellevue was named to Pitcher-of-the-Year. Her teammate Erin Sharpe was selected to Player-of-the-Year. Mikayla Frost of Jamestown and Hannah Carter of Bellevue were chosen as Co-Newcomer-of-the-Year. Michala Cimino of Bellevue (Neb.) was chosen as the NSAA Softball Coach-of-the-Year for the second straight year, guiding her team to the 2017 regular-season North Star conference title with a 20-6 record.
Jamestown earned the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Softball National Tournament Opening Round after earning a 2-1 Game 3 thriller over Bellevue in the NSAA Softball Championship Series at North Softball Complex.
