DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Head Softball Coach, Kristen Fleury, and Head Women's Volleyball Coach, Jenifer Hartman are pleased to announce the signing of Sarah Dobitz from Dickinson. Dobitz's is a 5'2 defensive specialist for volleyball and 3rd basemen in softball.
Sarah is a senior at Dickinson High School and has played varsity volleyball, basketball and softball the past four years. She plans on majoring in Elementary Education at Dickinson State University.
"Sarah is your ideal student-athlete. She takes great pride in her academics and athletics, we are looking forward to watching her grow on and off the field the next four years," stated Fleury. "She comes from a softball minded family ( Father, Pete Dobitz is the Head Baseball Coach at Dickinson High School) and has grown up learning every aspect of the game."
The decision to stay close to home was an easy one for Dobitz. "I'm really excited to play both sports. I really like both sports, and my parents can always come to my games because I'm right in town," she said. "I get to stay close to my family. It's definitely a perk, being close to family."
"We are extremely grateful that Sarah is joining the volleyball team. Her defense will fit perfectly into our system, and we are excited that she decided to continue on the family tradition of being a Blue Hawk," state Head Volleyball Coach Jenifer Hartman.
Sarah is the daughter of Joyce and Pete Dobitz.
