DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team defeated Waldorf University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 77-55.
The Lady Blue Hawks outscored Waldorf in the first quarter 24-20 and in the second quarter it was 19-11 for the Lady Blue Hawks ending the half with a score of 43-31. Dickinson State then outscored Waldorf in the third 21-14 and 13-10 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 77-55.
Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 40 percent from the field, 28 percent from three and 80 percent from the free throw line.
Waldorf shot 35 percent from the field, 38 percent from three and 50 percent from the line.
The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Ashley Bentz- Laub with 25 and Paitton Herbst with 16. Kate Golding hauled in 10 rebounds while Taylor Henningsgard had game high 18 assists.
Morgan Straight led Waldorf with 13 points followed by Taylor Fricke with 13.
Dickinson State finished the game with 49 rebounds, 25 assists, 10 turnovers and 10 steals while Waldorf finished with 36 rebounds, 12 assists 19 turnovers and 8 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 16-5 overall and 9-1 NSAA.
The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Viterbo University on January 27th at 5:30 PM at Scott Gym.
