DICKINSON, ND- Braxton Henningsen has signed a national letter of intent to join the Dickinson State University Wrestling and Baseball programs.
Henningsen is a senior from Butte High School in Butte, Montana.
On the mat, Braxton finished third at the 2016 Montana AA meet at 132 pounds while on the baseball field, he is an infielder.
"Braxton has the potential to become a very good college wrestler," said DSU Head Wrestling Coach Justin Schlecht. "He comes from a very supportive family and has had a great coach in wrestling at Butte High School."
Braxton is the son of Amie and Rich Henningsen. His high school wrestling coach, Cory Johnston, was an NAIA All-American for the Blue Hawks in 2008.
"I chose DSU because I really connected with the coaches and think Dickinson State will be a great opportunity for me in my future," stated Henningsen.
Henningsen plans to major in Business or Exercise Science at Dickinson State University and enjoys hunting and fishing in his down time.
"Braxton is an outstanding athlete," said DSU Head Baseball Coach Jason Watson. "He has a great work ethic and has the ability to be a two-sport athlete in college."
