BUTTE, MT- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team lost to Carroll College in three sets on Saturday to end their Big Sky Volleyball Challenge tournament.
Carroll College won the match after winning the first three sets. The Saints won the first set 25-11, the second set 26-24 and the third set 25-15.
The Blue Hawks finished the match with 30 kills on 114 attempts with 29 assists, 51 digs and two team blocks.
The Saints finished the match with 51 kills on 119 attempts with 47 assists, 63 digs and seven team blocks.
Brenna Hansen and Sydney Bentz led the Blue Hawks with six kills while Tessa Sian and Shelby Gustafson each recorded five kills. Kaitlyn Anderson finished with 15 assists and Danielle Boyette also finished with 13 assists. Shaylee Singleton recorded 16 digs.
The Blue Hawks are now 0-4 on the season and will travel to play in the Corn Palace Classic on Friday, September 2nd and Saturday, September 3rd. DSU will play Dakota Wesleyan (10:00 AM MST) and Valley City State (3:00 PM MDT) on Friday and play Mount Marty College (11:00 AM MST) and Clarke College (3:00 PM MST) on Saturday.
Dickinson State will host the University of Mary on Tuesday, September 6th at 6:00 PM (MDT) in Scott Gym in the Blue Hawks home opener.
