DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team is pleased to announce the signing of Molly O'Connor from Sundance, WY.
O'Connor has been a starting setter for the Sundance Bulldogs for the past three years. During her time as a Bulldog, Molly helped assist her team to a 2nd place finish at the state tournament in 2016, and a State Championship title in 2017. O'Connor is a three-time 1st Team All-Conference player, and a two-time 1st Team All-State recipient. Overall, Molly ended her high school career as being one of best leaders to go through the Bulldog's program as being nominated team captain her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
Not only is Molly an outstanding volleyball player, but she is also heavily involved in basketball and track. On the basketball court, O'Connor was a two-time All-Conference player in 2015 and 2016. On the track, O'Connor managed to be a state qualifier both her freshman and sophomore year. Molly is set to live up to these same standards these upcoming seasons.
Molly is a four-time Academic All-State award recipient in volleyball, basketball, and track. In addition, she is involved in the National Honor Society and is a four-time Honor Roll student for Sundance High School.
"Molly was born with a team-first mentality. She was voted upon as team captain three years in a row, which is saying something. We are very excited to have her join the Blue Hawks this upcoming season. Her natural leadership qualities and hard work ethics will be great additions to the program, community, and university," stated head coach Jennifer Hartman.
Molly plans to work towards a degree in Nursing. She is the daughter of Jim and Cheryl O'Connor.
