DICKINSON, N.D. - The Dickinson State University Volleyball team is pleased to announce the signing of Cassie North from Missoula, MT.
North has been an outside hitter for the Missoula Sentinel Spartans for the past three years. As a Spartan, Cassie saw success early in her career as a sophomore when she helped assist her team to a 2nd place finish at the Montana State Volleyball Tournament in 2015. Her success did not stop there. In the years to follow, North would lead her team to back-to-back State Championships in 2016 and 2017. This past season, Cassie was selected first-team All-Conference and All-State for Class AA. Overall, Cassie ended her high school volleyball career as being one of Montana Class AA's leading outside/right side hitters. In her final two seasons, North helped lead the Spartan's to an overall win/loss record of 51-1.
Academically, North is a two-time Academic All-State award recipient in volleyball and track-and-field.
"Cassie comes from one of the best high school programs in the state of Montana. It is truly remarkable what Cassie and that whole class of seniors accomplished throughout their high school careers. These athletes come out of high school fundamentally sound and college ready, and North is no exception. Her sound fundamentals and winning mentality is what makes her a great addition to our program. We feel very blessed and fortunate she decided to become a Blue Hawk," Head Coach Jennifer Hartman explained.
When asked why she chose Dickinson State she stated, "I chose DSU because everyone is one big family. The volleyball team, the school, as well as the community. I like that it's a small campus and love the fact that I get to continue my volleyball career here with an amazing team and coaching staff."
Cassie plans to work towards a degree in Elementary Education. She is the daughter of Al and Marcie North.
