DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Head Cross Country Coach, Ben Shroyer, is pleased to announce the signing of Lisa Townsend.
Lisa was a four year Wyoming Class 3A State Cross Country Championship Qualifier, with at least a Top-15 overall finish every year and she earned All-State Honors at the 2012 Wyoming Class 3A State Cross Country Championships with a 9th place overall finish.
Townsend earned All-State Honors at the 2015 Wyoming Class 3A State Track & Field Championships as a member of winning 4x400m relay team in a time of 4:08.91 and placed 5th overall at the 2015 Wyoming Class 3A State Track & Field Championships in the 800m run.
She was also a four time Cross Country All-Conference Honoree, three time Track & Field All-Conference Honoree and a four year Varsity Basketball Player.
Lisa's personal records consist of 5k (XC)- 19:55, 1600- 5:50, 800- 2:26 and 400- 1:01.45.
"I chose to sign with DSU because I loved the campus and feel as this is place that I will be successful both academically and with my running career," said Townsend.
Lisa plans to major in History Education and Special Education at Dickinson State University and she is the daughter of Mark and Tammy Townsend.
“It’s very exciting to sign our second Wyoming recruit of the year," stated Shroyer. "Lisa will add some much needed depth to our women’s team this fall! She has been a multi-sport athlete throughout her entire high school career and that speaks volumes to me about her athleticism, dedication, and energy. She is also a four year National Honor Society and Honor Roll member. We are very excited to have her join our program and community in August! Lisa will do some great things for us at Dickinson State!”
