Dickinson State is unanimous favorite to win NSAA Women’s Cross Country

MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State earned all six first-place votes, earning unanimous coaches' pick to win the 2016 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women's Cross Country conference title.  The coaches' preseason poll, which was released by the conference office, was voted by the league's head coaches.

The Blue Hawks edged Jamestown (N.D.) 42-49 to win 2015 NSAA Women's Cross Country conference title in Madison, S.D.  Dickinson State earned 36 points in the preseason poll, while the Jimmies were predicted to finish second with 30 points.

Viterbo (Wis.) tallied 24 points to finish third in the poll.  Valley City State (N.D.) edged out Dakota State 14-13 to earn fourth place in the poll.  Waldorf (Iowa) was picked to finish sixth with nine points.

The NSAA Cross Country Conference Championship meet will be held in Dickinson, N.D. on Nov. 5 at 12 p.m. (Central Time)/11 a.m. (Mountain Time).  The team winner of the conference meet will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships in Charlotte, N.C. on Nov. 19.
