DICKINSON, N.D. – Emily Kuehn, of Glendive, Mont., put pen to paper signing her letter of intent with the Blue Hawk Cross Country and Track & Field teams.
Kuehn was a strong competitor for the Dawson County High School Red Devils, making it to the Montana Class-A Cross Country Championships all four years. Her best finish at state came this year, finishing fourth.
"We couldn't be happier to add Emily to the Blue Hawk roster. She has had a great high school career we expect her to add a lot to both our cross country and track team," cross country head coach Shayne Wittkopp on the signing.
Kuehn will also contribute to the Blue Hawks distance on the track. In her high school career, Kuehn has made it to the state championship level in her three seasons competing so far. In her junior year, she finished strong in the 1600 meter with a 5:16, placing sixth.
Track & field head coach Nick Walker said, "I am extremely excited that Emily will be a Blue Hawk. She has had an outstanding high school career and I feel her best days are ahead of her. She will make an immediate impact in our middle-distance group."
