Sarsland runs personal best at NAIA National Championships

Sagan Osborne - Dickinson State Sports & Marketing Information Director

Columbia, Mo. – Caleb Sarsland finished his sophomore campaign with a bang on Friday, clocking one of the fastest national meet times in North Star Athletic Association history at the NAIA National Championships in Missouri.

Sarsland finished the 8k race in 25 minutes and 11 seconds, good enough to finish in 104th place.

"Caleb had a fantastic race today running a personal best on the biggest stage," said Head Coach Shayne Wittkopp.  "I was proud of his effort today he's really showing how hard he works and how talented he is. His time today is the fastest time a NSAA athlete has run at the national meet since 2019 when Braden Curnow of Dakota State ran 25:06 and finished 6th. That puts his performance in perspective. Not only was he the fastest NSAA competitor at this year's championship but his performance was one of the fastest in the history of the conference at the National Championships."
