DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State's Caleb Sarsland has been named the Frontier Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, his second such honor of the season. The award comes as part of the seventh edition of the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Sarsland captured the individual title at the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open, the Frontier Conference Preview Meet, with a blistering time of 24 minutes, 45.2 seconds. His effort not only secured the victory against a strong field featuring top Frontier Conference and NCAA Division II runners, but also marked a 26-second personal best for the junior standout.

"With a victory at the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open in Billings, MT, versus the top distance runners in the Frontier Conference, plus versus multiple high-level NCAA Division II runners, Caleb Sarsland again showed he is a rising star in the NAIA," said Head Coach Dr. Thomas Schwartz. "He settled in the top pack through the first four miles as Rocky Mountain College athletes worked in tandem to surge and break Caleb, but to no avail. He turned the tables on their plan by attacking at the start of mile four of the 4.97-mile (8km) race, breaking the field wide open and never looking back. Caleb ran a 24:45.2 and improved on his lifetime best by 26 seconds. Next week he and the Blue Hawks travel to Ashland, NE, for the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, which provides an opportunity to race against the top NAIA runners from around the country."

Sarsland and the Blue Hawks will travel to Ashland, Nebraska, next week to compete in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, where they will face some of the top programs and individual runners from across the NAIA.
