BILLINGS, Mont. - Blue Hawk men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their fall season at the Frontier Conference Championships on Friday at Amend Park, with both squads earning seventh-place team finishes against a highly competitive field. The day was headlined by junior standout
Caleb Sarsland, who placed third overall in the men's 8K with a time of 25:01.20, earning All-Conference honors and a national qualifying berth.
Sarsland Secures All-Conference, Nationals Berth
Sarsland's performance once again cemented him as one of the top distance runners in the Frontier Conference. His third-place finish earned him All-Conference recognition (awarded to the top 15 finishers) and a spot at the NAIA National Championships, as individual qualifiers include the top six runners.
Men's Team-Building Depth and Experience
Behind Sarsland's top-three finish, the Blue Hawks placed seventh overall with a team average of 27:45.30. Freshman
Caleb Swisher clocked 27:12.00 as DSU's No. 2 runner, followed closely by junior
Hudson Atkinson in 27:35.00. Sophomore
Eli Heacock (29:22.90) and sophomore
Jacob Littleton (29:35.40) rounded out the scoring five.
Women's Team-Continued Progress and Competitive Pack Running
The Blue Hawk women also placed seventh, led by junior
Loli Jarrett, who posted a strong 23:28.80 to finish 20th overall. Senior
Natalie Lile (23:40.80) and senior
Lauren Taylor (24:38.90) followed close behind, showing steady improvement throughout the championship phase of the season. Freshman
Kheyerah Bilger (27:05.80) and freshman
Amanda Willis (30:46.50) completed the scoring lineup for Dickinson State.
Looking Ahead
With both squads placing seventh in the team standings and Sarsland advancing to the national stage, the Blue Hawks concluded their fall campaign with momentum and optimism. The NAIA Cross Country National Selection Show is Nov. 11th at 3 (MST), with the NAIA Cross Country National Championships being held on Nov. 21st at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
