Blue Hawks Set for Road Dual at Jamestown

THIS WEEK IN BLUE HAWK WOMEN'S WRESTLING
Dickinson State University women's wrestling returns to dual competition on Sunday, Jan. 18, traveling east to face the University of Jamestown, a regional rival and newcomer to Division II, the matchup is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Jamestown, N.D.

The Blue Hawks enter the dual ranked 19th nationally and seventh in the conference, continuing to build momentum following a challenging slate of national competition earlier this month. Dickinson State most recently competed at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where the program made its first appearance at the prestigious event and faced four nationally ranked opponents over two days.

Against elite competition, the Blue Hawks recorded eight individual victories across four duals, gaining valuable experience against some of the top programs in the country. Jenna Gerhardt led Dickinson State with a 3-0 weekend at 110 pounds, earning three falls against ranked opponents. Mikayla Jardine, Birta McCaskill and Isabella Urias each added key wins, highlighting a lineup that continues to show growth across multiple weights.

Dickinson State's lineup features several nationally ranked individuals, led by third-ranked Jumoke Adekoye at 131 pounds, who currently sits first in the conference. Gerhardt is ranked 12th nationally at 110, while Jazmine Turner holds an eighth-place national ranking while teammate Mikayla Jardine sits at 18th at 117.

Sunday's opponent, the University of Jamestown, enters the dual unranked as a team and without ranked individuals but brings tournament-tested depth into the matchup. The Jimmies are led by head coach Tony DeAnda, who is in his seventh overall season guiding the program. Jamestown most recently competed at the Eagle Women's Open hosted by Chadron State, where the Jimmies produced five place winners. Emily Novak led the effort with a third-place finish at 180 pounds, while Jamestown also placed at 145, 160, 207 and 131 pounds.

The Blue Hawks and Jimmies have developed a competitive regional series in recent seasons. Dickinson State holds a 3-1 advantage over the past four meetings, including road victories during the 2024–25 season. The most recent meeting in Jamestown resulted in a 33-16 decision in favor of the Blue Hawks.

Sunday's dual is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start and will take place at Harold Newman Arena in Jamestown, N.D.
