THIS WEEK IN BLUE HAWK WOMEN'S WRESTLING
Dickinson State returns to the road Sunday afternoon for a women's wrestling dual against Bismarck State. The matchup is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and marks another late-season matchup for the Blue Hawks as they continue preparations for postseason competition.
Dickinson State enters the dual receiving votes nationally and ranked sixth in the conference. The Blue Hawks most recently secured a 28-14 victory over the University of Jamestown on Senior Night at Scott Gymnasium, closing out the home portion of their schedule with a balanced team performance. In that win, Dickinson State claimed four contested victories, including a fall and a technical fall, while adding three forfeit wins. Jazmine Turner recorded a pin at 124 pounds, and Jumoke Adekoye added a technical fall at 131 pounds. Isabella Urias closed the dual with a decision at 207 pounds to seal the team result.
Adekoye continues to lead the Blue Hawks in the national conversation at 131 pounds. She is ranked third nationally and first in the conference, providing Dickinson State with a consistent presence in the middle weights. At 110 pounds, Jenna Gerhardt is ranked 12th nationally and sixth in the conference, while Mikayla Jardine checks in at 15th nationally at 117 pounds. The Blue Hawks also feature conference-ranked depth throughout the lineup. Birta McCaskill (124), Kaitlyn McAnelly (138), Savannah Brehm (145), Paisley Jaeger (145), Olivia Anderson (160), Bridgette Price (180), and Isabella Urias (207) all appear in the latest conference ratings, giving Dickinson State flexibility in dual competition.
Sunday's matchup will be the second meeting between Dickinson State and Bismarck State in program history. The Blue Hawks claimed a 29-20 victory in the previous meeting on Dec. 10, 2025, in Dickinson. That result provided an early benchmark in the series as both programs continue to build their women's wrestling identities. With postseason competition approaching, Sunday's dual offers another opportunity for Dickinson State to sharpen its lineup and continue building momentum. The Blue Hawks have emphasized steady improvement throughout the season, competing against nationally ranked opponents and navigating a demanding schedule.
The road environment will provide an additional test as Dickinson State looks to carry over the momentum from its Senior Night victory. Maintaining bonus-point opportunities and minimizing swings in tightly contested matches will remain key factors in dual scoring.
