Hayden Wempen

Hayden Wempen born (July 18, 200) was raised in Riverton, Wyoming by his grandparents Les and Nancy Wempen. Andy Wempen, Hayden's older brother influenced him at a young age to start wrestling, also coached him throughout high school. The Wyoming native was a state champion and a triple crown winner in 2016. Hayen started his college career at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado where he graduated with an Associate's Degree in Psychology and became an All-American, finishing 3rd at 184 lbs in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2020. Following junior college, Hayden committed to Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. During his time at MVC Wempen became an NAIA All-American with an 8th place finish at 184 lbs in the national meet. His final stop was Morningside University where he became a 5x national qualifier and a 2x regional champion before graduating with a B.A. in Developmental Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Hayden is extremely excited about starting his coaching career at DSU and is ready to give back to a sport that he has dedicated his life to.
