Jacob Owsley enters his second season as assistant men’s basketball coach at Dickinson State University. In 2024–25, he helped lead the Blue Hawks to one of their most successful campaigns in recent history, finishing with a 19–11 record and capturing both the North Star Athletic Association regular-season and tournament championships.

Prior to joining Dickinson State, Owsley served as an assistant coach at Rocky Mountain College, where he also led the developmental men’s basketball team. His earlier coaching experience includes working with freshman teams at Missoula Big Sky High School and Florence-Carlton High School.

Owsley began his coaching career as a student assistant at Montana Western under longtime head coach Steve Keller.

As a player at Montana Western, Owsley earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors, along with First Team and Second Team All-Conference selections. He was a key contributor to the Bulldogs’ Frontier Co-Conference Championship team in 2011–12, which advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NAIA National Tournament. He also played a central role in Montana Western’s 2012–13 run to the Elite Eight.
