Sagan Osborne

Sagan Osborne began his tenure as Sports and Marketing Information Director at Dickinson State University in the fall of 2022 and currently serves as the senior leader for athletics marketing, communications, and brand strategy for Blue Hawk Athletics. In this role, he oversees all aspects of external relations, advancing the visibility, storytelling, and fan engagement of DSU Athletics at the conference, regional, and national levels.

Osborne leads and manages the Athletics Marketing and Communications operation, aligning departmental messaging with institutional and NAIA branding standards. He directs the Sports Information Department, overseeing media relations, statistical reporting, game recaps, historical records, and championship submissions. He also serves as the department head for gameday operations, coordinating staffing, media services, promotions, and in-venue presentation to enhance the overall fan experience.

A key driver of the department’s digital presence, Osborne oversees all athletics social media strategy, content creation, and platform management to elevate engagement, expand reach, and support recruiting efforts. He manages and maintains the DSU athletics website, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and strategic storytelling across all platforms. Additionally, he supervises athletics photography, videography, and graphic design, while also contributing creative direction and producing visual content for web, print, and promotional use.

Osborne works closely with coaches, administrators, and campus partners to support marketing initiatives, fundraising efforts, and community engagement. He is an active member of College Sports Communicators (CSC) and NAIA-SIDA, serves on the NAIA-SIDA National Branding Committee, and is a member of the NAIA national voting committee for Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, contributing to national recognition efforts and best practices in collegiate athletics communications.

A Dickinson State alumnus, Osborne earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Management, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Athletic Educational Leadership.

He resides in Dickinson with his wife, Steph, and their two children, Corbin and Addison.
