DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Women's Basketball team hosted Minot State on Saturday in Scott Gym. The Beavers defeated the Blue Hawks 63-56.

After one quarter of play, the game was tied 13-13. Minot State outscored the Hawks 14-13 in the second quarter to take a 27-26 halftime lead. The Beavers then outscored DSU 13-8 in the third quarter and 23-22 in the fourth quarter to win the ballgame, 63-56.

Dickinson State shot 30% from the field, 21% from three and 85% from the free throw line while Minot State shot 37% from the field, 10% from three and 56% from the free throw line.

Kailyn Groves (JR/Faith, SD) led the Blue Hawks with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Baumberger (SO/Watauga, SD) finished the game with 11 points and eight rebounds while Courtney Olson (SR/Mandan, ND) recorded eight points and four rebounds.

Natasha Elliot and Amber Stevahn led the Beavers with 14 points each, Anna Counts finished with 13 points and Kate Head tallied 12 points in the game.

The Blue Hawks finished with 45 rebounds, 12 steals and 19 turnovers while the Beavers finished with 49 rebounds, 12 steals and 19 turnovers.

Dickinson State is now 0-2 on the season and will travel to Montana State- Northern on October 26th. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM (MT).
