CASSELTON, ND- The Dickinson State University Softball team once again defeated the Doane University Tigers and the Mayville State University Comets on Friday.
Game 1: (DSU 2, DU 1)

The Blue Hawks pulled off a late 2-1 win against the Doane University Tigers in a non-conference game on Friday in Cassleton, ND. In true Blue Hawk fashion, the Hawks made things exciting on the offensive side of the ball in the 6th inning.
Dallis Mitchell (FR/Phoenix, AZ) singled to left on a line drive, Mitchell capitalized on an error by Tigers catcher Kayla Miller and stole second putting her in scoring position to shift the momentum of the game. On a 3-1 count catcher, Katelyn Kubitschek (JR/Phoenix, AZ ), bunted for a single to the shortstop and Mitchell scored from second base. Kubitschek stole second base and scored on a hard ground ball to center by Madison Stephens (FR/Las Vegas, NV), putting the Hawks up 2-0 in the 6th inning.
The Tigers answered back in the bottom of the 7th inning when Haley Kennedy scored on a line drive single to center by Kailyn Wiseman. Paisley Garcia (FR/Las Vegas, NV) went five innings and allowed five hits with one strikeout. Sophomore pitcher, Madeline Peralta (SO/El Monte, CA), entered the game in the 6th inning and allowed only two Tiger hits.
The Blue Hawks racked up nine hits in the game, Katelyn Kubitschek and Trinity Anderson (JR/Paradise, UT) each had two hits and two stolen bases.
Game 2: (DSU 8, MSU 6)

The Blue Hawks walked away with another win in a non-conference game against the Mayville State University Comets. The Hawks got on the board first, with a squeeze to third base by Hailey Enriquez (SO/Sparks, NV) allowing Trinity Anderson to score.
The Comets answered back with three runs in the 2nd inning before Enriquez blasted a solo-homerun shot to left in the 3rd inning making the score 3-2 Comets. The Hawks tallied six more runs over the next three innings while the Comets scattered three, ending in an 8-6 Blue Hawk victory.
A combined effort by Mitchell, Peralta, and Garcia on the mound in this game allowed for a team victory against the Comets.
The Blue Hawks tallied 12 hits while Kubitschek, Anderson, and Enriquez all had multiple hits.
