BELLEVUE, NE- Jaya Allen (JR/Spokane, WA) led the Blue Hawks to a 1-0, 10 inning shutout victory over the #2 seed Bellevue University Bruins in the second round of the winners' bracket on Thursday.

In a pitcher's dual between Jaya Allen and Bellevue University's Lauren Jurek, the Blue Hawks pulled off a dramatic 1-0 victory to advance in the winners' bracket.
Offensively, the Blue Hawks scattered four hits through nine innings. In the 10th inning, Olivia Hanke (JR/San Deigo, CA) was the Blue Hawks' spark plug and singled on a 3-1 count to right field. Rhea Paiva (SO/Las Vegas, NV) followed with a single to center and Hanke advanced to 3rd putting the Blue Hawks in a perfect position to shift the momentum of the game. Katelyn Kubitschek (JR/Phoenix, AZ ) did exactly that and hit a shallow single to left allowing Hanke to plate the first run of the game. The Blue Hawks held the Bruins on defense in the bottom of the 10th and secured the win.
Allen pitched a gem for the Blue Hawks throwing a complete game shutout and played a big role in the Blue Hawks' defensive success. Over 10 innings, Allen allowed three hits and struck out 13 Bruins.
Offensively, the Blue Hawks outhit the Bruins 7-3. Paiva collected three hits of her own, a double and two singles. Kennedy Kuntz (FR/Dickinson, ND), Allen, Hanke, and Kubitschek each collected a hit as well.

The Blue Hawks will face #1 seed Valley City State at 2:00 PM (MT). The winner will advance to the Championship game while the loser will play the winner of the loser's bracket.
