NON-CONFERENCE FINALES: The Blue Hawks will head on the road for non-conference games one last time this season when they head to Billings, Montana for rematches with Montana Western and Rocky Mountain College … Dickinson State should be fresh after playing just one game, a 76-53 road loss at Jamestown, since their December 6 home victory over Montana State-Northern … the Blue Hawks are looking to draw closer to .500 on the year with NSAA conference play just around the corner after going 5-8 to start the year … both Montana Western and Rocky Mountain provide unique challenges for DSU to overcome as they are a combined 3-0 against the Blue Hawks on the year … sophomore guard Kayden Steele could be the x-factor on the weekend as she is averaging 15 points per game over the last three contests and has been injected into the starting lineup by head coach Eric Nelson

SCOUTING THE FOES: Montana Western comes into the contest with a sparkling 10-2 record and have won five straight … they secured wins over #14 Vanguard University, RV Rust College, and Benedictine-Mesa (Ariz.) at the Cactus Classic in Chandler, Arizona last week … the Bulldogs are averaging 70 points per game and are holding opponents to just 58.2 … they do a lot of damage from long range, connecting on nearly nine three-pointers per game and shooting 33 percent as a team … Rocky Mountain comes into the weekend 8-4 and winners of six of their last seven games … they also took the trip down to Chandler, Arizona, going 2-1 with wins over Benedictine Mesa and San Diego Christian College (Calif.) … their lone loss in the month of December came against RV Rust College on the 22nd … the Bears average 70 points per game while holding opponents to just 54 … they have an incredible inside presence, but can shoot from long range as well, knocking down eight threes a game on 33 percent shooting
