North Star Athletic Association Softball Player-of-the-Week

Dallis Mitchell – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – pitcher/first baseman – Phoenix, Ariz. – Dallis Mitchell helped the Blue Hawks to a pair of victories to kick off the Tucson Invitational Games (TIG) on Sunday. Mitchell went 3-of-4 at the plate with a triple and double in DSU's 11-3 victory over Tabor College and followed with a 2-of-3 slate in game two, defeating St. Francis (Ill.) 5-4. Mitchell recorded a batting average of .714 (5-of-7 at the plate) and a slugging percentage of 1.143. She also recorded a complete game victory from the mound versus Tabor in five innings.

From the Coach –

"Dallis had a great day at the plate on Sunday and was really seeing the ball well," stated DSU's head softball coach Kristen Fleury. "On the mound, she pitched a great five-innings versus Tabor College with one pitch getting away from her. As a coach, I take full responsibility for that home-run ball and the three earned-runs should be credited to my own stats [Coach Fleury]. I am proud of her as she is always putting in the extra work to be the best she can be – and that shows both on and off the field."
