BACK HOME: The Blue Hawks will make their long-awaited North Star Athletic Association home debuts after three straight road games to start the conference slate … Dickinson State will look to rebound from one of the toughest road trips in the conference at Bellevue and Dakota State where they went 0-2 last weekend … Friday and Saturday's contests will be just the fifth and sixth home games of the year for the Blue Hawks who have a home-heavy finish to their schedule, with 7 of their final 11 games in Scott Gym

THE SERIES SINCE 2009...
vs WU: DSU leads 10-3, 6-1 in Dickinson
Last: 63-41 DSU (2/05/22 in Dickinson) / Streak: DSU 6
Notes: The Blue Hawks have won six straight games against the Warriors dating back to the 2019-2020 season … the only home loss to Waldorf came on December 2, 2017 when WU prevailed 68-59

vs VU: DSU leads 9-7, 6-2 in Dickinson
Last: 70-67 DSU (2/22/22 in Dickinson) / Streak: DSU 2
Notes: Dickinson State went 2-1 against Viterbo last season, including a win in the NSAA Opening Round in Dickinson … the teams traded wins for six games before the Blue Hawks playoff triumph bucked the trend … the teams are 5-5 against each other over the last 10 games

SCOUTING THE FOES: Waldorf comes into the game off a 1-1 conference weekend where they fell to Mayville State, 77-41, before defeating Presentation College, 75-60, both games were in Forest City … the Warriors have struggled offensively at times this season, averaging almost 20 points less per game in their losses compared to their wins … Viterbo will come into the weekend after a non-conference victory over Judson, 85-73, on Tuesday January 10 … last weekend they went 1-1 in conference play knocking off Presentation before falling to Mayville State … the V-Hawks average 67 points per game on 39 percent shooting, they shoot 29 percent from deep as a team, however that number has fallen to 25 percent in conference play

QUOTES…

Head Coach Eric Nelson

"It was a tough weekend for us as a team as we played two of the best teams in conference on the road. Winning in this conference is hard and winning on the road is even harder. We look forward to playing our first conference home games of the year against Waldorf and Viterbo this weekend."
