DILLON, Mont. – Senior guard Hannah LaBree scored a career-high 13 points, and Dickinson State shot 41 percent from the field, but Montana Western was scorching hot and cruised to a 102-66 victory.
Samantha Oase scored 14 points to join LaBree as the only Blue Hawks in double figures, but the hosts form Dillon, Montana got a game-high 31 points from Jordan Sweeney as they shot 59 percent for the game. The Bulldogs, who are receiving votes in the national poll, turned the ball over just 6 times and scored 26 points off 17 Dickinson State turnovers.
In large part thanks to LaBree's strong night, the Blue Hawk bench scored 30 of DSU's 66 points, matching the output of the UMW bench. Samantha Oase scored the first basket of the game for a quick 2-0 lead, but the Blue Hawks never led again as the Bulldogs sprinted out to a 29-12 lead after ten minutes.
DSU also got 8 points and 7 rebounds from leading scorer Kayden Steele, but she was held to just 3-12 shooting on the night in 23 minutes of action.
