ROAD FINALES: The Blue Hawks will head on the road one last time in the regular season when they take on Viterbo University on Waldorf University on Friday and Saturday … Dickinson State is coming off a 1-1 home weekend that saw them take down Presentation College before coming up just short against league-leading Mayville State on Saturday … this weekend will go a long way in determining the seeding for the fast-approaching North Star conference tournament … the Blue Hawks currently sit two games behind Valley City State for the fourth seed … being in the top four seeds is significant as it grants a home playoff game to start off the conference tournament … a road sweep of Viterbo and Waldorf is close to necessary for the Blue Hawks to keep their hopes alive for a top four finish

THE SERIES SINCE 2009...
vs VU: DSU leads 9-8, 3-5 in La Crosse
Last: 74-61 VU (1/14/23 in Dickinson) / Streak: VU 1
Notes: Viterbo took down the Blue Hawks in Dickinson last month, ending a three-game home win streak against the V-Hawks … DSU has struggled in La Crosse winning just three times since Viterbo joined the league in 2015

vs WU: DSU leads 11-3, 4-2 in Forest City
Last: 72-38 DSU (1/13/23 in Dickinson) / Streak: DSU 7
Notes: The Blue Hawks have won seven straight games against the Warriors dating back to the 2019-2020 season, including their blowout win in Dickinson earlier this season … the last time a game was not decided by double digits was a 47-43 win by DSU during the 2020-2021 season

SCOUTING THE FOES:  Viterbo comes into the weekend in the middle of a four-game skid … their last win was against the Blue Hawks on January 14 before going 0-2 against Dakota State and Bellevue on back-to-back weekends … the V-Hawks are just 2-6 at home this season … Waldorf has lost six straight games, a streak that started with their loss to the Blue Hawks in January … the Warriors have two home wins on the season, with their lone conference win coming at home against Presentation College

QUOTES…

Head Coach Eric Nelson

" We have our final road trip of the regular season this weekend as we travel to Viterbo and Waldorf. Winning on the road is always difficult but we need to find a way to win two games this weekend to keep us in the middle of the standings. Our team understands how important the next couple week are for our season as we head towards the conference tournament."
