DICKINSON – Danielle Wallace scored 6 points and pulled down a career-high 8 rebounds, but top-seeded Dakota State proved to be too much for Dickinson State, as the Trojans won 82-37 to advance to the championship game of the North Star Conference Tournament. Dickinson State finishes the season with a 13-17 overall record, and their second consecutive NSAA Final Four appearance.
Dakota State, coming off a 116-40 opening round win over Presentation, controlled the game from the start, jumping out to a 15-5 lead in the first three and a half minutes and cruising from there. The Trojans smothering defense held DSU to one of its worst offensive performances in weeks, as the Blue Hawks shot just 12-52 (23 percent) from the field and 1-20 (5 percent) from long range. 26 turnovers for Dickinson State were also their most in a game since the last time they took on DaSU.
Senior Lindsay Peterson scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in her final game as a Blue Hawk, while fellow senior McKenzie Johnson was held scoreless but managed to pull down 10 rebounds. Kayden Steele led DSU with 9 points, but went 0-4 from long range.
