BIG TIME WEEKEND: The Blue Hawks return home for an extremely important weekend with games against conference leaders Dakota State and Bellevue … after a road sweep at Viterbo and Waldorf last weekend, the Blue Hawks kept their hopes alive for a home playoff game … they don't completely control their own destiny and will need some help along the way … as the standings shake out now, the Blue Hawks are a virtual lock for either the 4 or 5 seed in the NSAA conference tournament … in order to secure the fourth seed, DSU will likely need to go 1-1 this weekend while Valley City State goes 0-2, and then defeat the Vikings next Thursday night in the regular season finale

THE SERIES SINCE 2009...
vs DaSU: DaSU leads 13-11, DSU leads 6-5 in Dickinson
Last: 80-53 DaSU (1/7/23 in Madison) / Streak: DaSU 13
Notes: Dakota State has won the last 13 games in the series … the Blue Hawks still hold a winning record at home against the Trojans since 2009

vs BU: BU leads 10-4, 5-3 in Dickinson
Last: 69-60 BU (1/6/23 in Bellevue) / Streak: BU 2
Notes: The Bruins have won the last two games between the teams, both in Nebraska … last time Bellevue made the trip to Scott Gym, Dickinson State pulled out a dominant 69-50 win

SCOUTING THE FOES:  Dakota State comes into the weekend still receiving votes in the national polls … the Trojans are currently riding a 10-game win streak and have not lost since December Bellevue comes into the weekend just one game behind Dakota State for first place in the North Star Athletic Association and are 9-1 in their last ten games … after a down season last year, the Bruins have rebounded back toward the top of the conference and a 15-9 overall record

QUOTES…

Head Coach Eric Nelson

"We just finished a great road weekend so now we need to carry that momentum into our last home games. Dakota State and Bellevue are two of the top three teams in the league so we will have to play our best basketball of the season. Our team is looking forward to playing at home and in our own gym!"
