CHICK-FIL-A CLASSIC
Dickinson State returns to the Chick-fil-A Classic in Bellevue, Nebraska for the fourth consecutive season this weekend. The Blue Hawks will take on NAIA opponents Mount Mercy and Southwestern Christian on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The Blue Hawks have gone 4-0 at the Classic over the past two seasons with wins over Midland twice, Kansas Wesleyan, and Bethany (Kan.). Mount Mercy was picked to finish 5th in the 13-team Heart of America Conference, while Southwestern Christian was picked to finish 8th in the 13-team Sooner Athletic Conference. Both teams will make their season debuts this weekend, with SWC opening up against Bellevue on Friday before taking on Dickinson State.

Dickinson State raced out to a fantastic start to the year, taking down a pair of Frontier Conference foes in Montana Tech and Montana Western. The wins were numbers 99 and 100 for Head Coach Eric Nelson. Kayden Steele led the Blue Hawks, scoring 20.5 ppg in the two wins and Samantha Oase (15.5 ppg) and Katherine Fox (13 ppg) joined her in double figures. Steele shot 63.6 percent from the field last week and will look to continue her hot shooting in Bellevue.
