Fargo, N.D. — Dickinson State indoor track and field competed at the Dakota Alumni Classic by North Dakota State last weekend. The field consisted mainly of programs at the NCAA Division I and II levels.
On the women's side, Kaitlyn McColly secured a strong performance in the pentathlon, finishing 5th overall with 3,538 points. Her score is currently the top ranked NAIA score in the nation. Adarra Haglund leaped to a 4th place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.67 meters. Jewel Olson ran a 59.75 in the 400m, claiming 6th place. Her time comes in at #12 nationally in the NAIA.
On the men's side, Hudson Atkinson claimed 2nd place in the mile run with a time of 4:36.54. Corbin Harris took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 15.72m, good enough for #10 in the NAIA and #1 in the North Star. Ty Leischner rounded out the top finishes for DSU, placing 5th in the pole vault with a height of 4.40 meters.
