Sagan Osborne – Dickinson State Sports & Marketing Information Director

Dickinson, N.D. - Dickinson State Cheer celebrated a historic day on Saturday with its first-ever home in-person competition in school history, held at Scott Gym. The Blue Hawks shined on the mat, securing victories against both Northwestern College (Iowa) and Carroll College, with scores of 95.30 and 93.30, respectively.

In the first dual against Northwestern, DSU delivered a commanding performance, earning a record-high score of 95.30. Following this, the Blue Hawks continued their momentum in the second dual against Carroll College, achieving another impressive score of 93.30. Both scores demonstrated the team's consistency and ability to execute under pressure.

Head coach Cebe Schneider reflected on the historic day with pride and gratitude, saying, "It was a special day for Blue Hawk Cheer today. Our first in-person competition, the solid showing from our athletes, and a record-high score. We overcame some significant challenges to prepare for this competition. This is a group of talented and focused athletes who rally together to rise up. I'm so proud of them. It was doubly meaningful to have so many wonderful DSU staff and faculty present, as well as DSU Cheer alumni."

Schneider also emphasized the team's journey leading up to the competition, noting that overcoming challenges was a key part of their preparation. She added, "We have a lot of work in front of us but today was a great start."
