Blue Hawks unable to keep up with No. 7 LCSC

LEWISTON, Idaho – Dickinson State dropped its second straight contest to #7 Lewis-Clark State to open the 2025-26 season, falling 79-58 on Saturday afternoon at the P1FCU Activity Center.

The Blue Hawks (0-2) were unable to recover from a slow start, trailing 26-12 after the first quarter and never holding a lead. Despite outscoring the Warriors in the final period, 20-16, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.

Kaylin Garza led Dickinson State with 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting and added five rebounds. Forward Brae Eneboe added 11 points and five boards, while Jada Clarkson contributed a game-high 14 rebounds along with nine points.

Dickinson State shot 34.9% from the field (22-of-63) and 31.6% from three-point range (6-of-19), while holding a slight advantage at the free throw line, converting 8-of-9 attempts. The Blue Hawks were out-rebounded 50-39 and committed 19 turnovers, leading to 21 points for Lewis-Clark State.

The Warriors (2-0) controlled the paint, scoring 46 points inside and posting 20 second-chance points. Payton Hymas paced Lewis-Clark with 18 points and seven assists, while Darian Herring recorded a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Dickinson State trailed by as many as 28 points late in the third quarter. A brief fourth-quarter push, highlighted by Garza's 10 points in the final 10 minutes, helped narrow the margin. The Blue Hawks' best offensive quarter came in the fourth, where they shot 38.1% from the floor and hit all three of their free throw attempts.

J'ell Garfield added eight points, including a pair of three-pointers, and Allie Kohn finished with six points and two rebounds. Kyrie Alldredge provided five points off the bench in 20 minutes.
