BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its annual awards on Thursday, with Dickinson State University once again represented among the league's most outstanding contributors. Pete Stanton was named Co-Athletics Director of the Year, while Dr. Lori Hauf received the honor of Faculty Athletic Representative of the Year, recognizing their exceptional leadership and service to Blue Hawk Athletics and the NSAA community.
Pete Stanton – Co-Athletics Director of the Year
For the third consecutive year, Stanton was honored as NSAA Athletics Director of the Year, a testament to his continued impact on Dickinson State's athletic success. During the 2024–25 season, DSU captured conference regular season titles in football, men's basketball, women's indoor track & field, and men's outdoor track & field.
Now in his eighth year as Director of Athletics, Stanton has spearheaded strategic growth for the department, including the revival of baseball and the addition of junior varsity programs, women's wrestling, and competitive cheer. He also serves as head coach of the Blue Hawk football program, which advanced to the Second Round of the NAIA Football Championship Series this past fall after winning its tenth straight NSAA title with an undefeated 8–0 conference record.
Stanton's football squads have won 41 consecutive conference games dating back to 2019, closing out the NSAA football era with a perfect five-season stretch.
Dr. Lori Hauf – Faculty Athletic Representative of the Year
Dr. Lori Hauf was named NSAA Faculty Athletic Representative of the Year in recognition of her longstanding support of DSU student-athletes. With more than 25 years of service to Dickinson State, Dr. Hauf has held numerous academic leadership positions, including Associate Professor, Department Chair, and Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
As FAR, she has overseen eligibility processes and served as an advocate for academic integrity in athletics, helping ensure that Blue Hawk student-athletes meet high academic and compliance standards.
"It has been our honor to have Lori serve as the FAR at Dickinson State for the past several years," said Stanton. "Her dedication, attention to detail, and genuine care for our student-athletes has been very impressive. We all wish her well in her retirement and thank Lori for her outstanding career."
