DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State University has been recognized as a Gold Level Champions of Character Five-Star Institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), highlighting the university's continued commitment to integrity, leadership, and academic and athletic excellence.
The Champions of Character program honors institutions that exemplify the NAIA's core values through character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion. Institutions also earn points based on high student-athlete grade point averages and minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the academic year. The Gold Level distinction is the highest awarded by the NAIA.
"This honor reflects the culture we strive to build at Dickinson State," said DSU President Scott Molander. "Our student-athletes are leaders who compete with integrity and carry the values of our university into everything they do. This recognition affirms our commitment to developing well-rounded student athletes."
Athletic Director Pete Stanton credited both the coaching staff and student-athletes for setting a strong standard across all programs. "We are proud of our athletic department for this achievement," Stanton said. "Our staff sets the standard for their programs and our student-athletes have achieved great success both on and off the playing field."
This recognition affirms Dickinson State's mission to foster a positive and principled athletic environment. The university places equal emphasis on sportsmanship, academic achievement, personal growth, and competitive success.
