BELLEVUE, Neb. — Dickinson State's season came to a close Saturday as the Blue Hawks fell 78-48 at Bellevue in a women's basketball game at the BU Fieldhouse.
Dickinson State finished the year 7-19 overall. Bellevue improved to 10-17.
Bellevue opened the game on a 23-12 first-quarter advantage and carried a 40-22 lead into halftime. The Bruins continued to build the margin in the third quarter, outscoring DSU 23-15 to take a 63-37 lead into the final period and closing out the 30-point win.
Allie Kohn and Kyrie Alldredge led Dickinson State with eight points apiece. J'Ell Garfield added seven points, while Karson Tempel and Izzy Kelly scored seven each off the bench. DSU also got four points from Jada Clarkson and Brae Eneboe, and three points from Sadie Stevenson.
Bellevue was led by Zakiyyah Muhammad's 24 points. Drasoni Kyles added 18 points on 5-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Karoline Ellison scored 11 points, while Joy Beran had eight and Dru Zoucha finished with six.
Dickinson State shot 29.5 percent (18 of 61) from the field and went 4 of 16 from 3-point range. The Blue Hawks were 8 of 13 at the free-throw line. Bellevue shot 38.6 percent (27 of 70) and connected on 11 of 30 from beyond the arc, going 13 of 15 at the line.
Bellevue held a 49-42 edge on the glass. Alldredge led DSU with seven rebounds, while Garfield and Clarkson each had six. Clarkson also recorded three assists. Dickinson State totaled 11 assists on 18 made field goals.
Turnovers were a factor as Dickinson State committed 15, while Bellevue had seven. Bellevue scored 10 points off turnovers and added 10 second-chance points.
