Blue Hawks end Tucson games with an 8-0 win

TUCSON — Dickinson State put together a complete performance on Thursday morning, defeating Westcliff University 8–0 in five innings behind a dominant outing from Reagan King and a pair of multi-RBI swings in the third and fifth innings.

King was efficient throughout, allowing just three hits while striking out two and facing only one batter over the minimum. She did not issue a walk and improved to 4–2 on the season. Westcliff managed just three baserunners against her, two of which came in the fifth before DSU turned a key double play to halt the threat.

After two quiet innings offensively, the Blue Hawks broke the game open with a five-run third. Ashlee Potter and Stocktyn Stevenson opened the frame with back-to-back singles, and after a fielder's choice and walk, Brooke Lijewski lifted a sacrifice fly to right that brought home the first run. A Westcliff error on the play allowed a second run to score.

Octavia Meyer followed with a two-run double to right, and Kiley Hubby capped the surge with a two-run home run to left, pushing the lead to 5–0.

Dickinson State added three more in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory. Celina Wilharm singled to start the inning, and Lijewski drove her in with a double to center. Meyer singled to move pinch-runner Izzy Kelly to third, and Hubby delivered again with a two-RBI single to left, extending the lead to 8–0. "Kiley Hubby singled to left field, 2 RBI; Octavia Meyer scored; Izzy Kelly scored."

The Blue Hawks finished with 10 hits, led by Stevenson (2-for-3), Meyer (2-for-3, 2 RBI), Hubby (2-for-3, 4 RBI), and Wilharm, who reached base three times and scored twice. DSU also stole two bases and committed just one error defensively.

Westcliff was held without a run for the full five innings, collecting singles from Jasmyn Lara, Sara Ellerton, and Kayce Johnston.

Dickinson State improves to 12–8 with the win as they end their games in Tucson.
