BISMARCK, N.D. — Caleb Sarsland placed second in the men's 8K to lead Dickinson State at the Marauders Invitational Friday at McDowell Dam, while Loli Jarrett paced the Blue Hawk women in the 6K.

Sarsland crossed the line in 25:03.71, finishing behind only U-Mary's Gideon Hammah, who won in 24:51.23. The runner-up finish gave Sarsland his second top-10 performance in as many meets to open the season after placing seventh at the Augustana Twilight Invitational.

Thomas Oylear was the second Blue Hawk across the line for the second consecutive meet, placing 20th in 27:09.76. Sophomore Kyler Holinde followed in 39th and lowered his collegiate 8K personal best to 28:50.54, improving on his previous mark of 29:42.4.

Hudson Atkinson finished 44th in 29:52.61, while Brady Hoverson completed Dickinson State's men's lineup with a 52nd-place finish in 31:52.14.

On the women's side, Jarrett led Dickinson State with a 32nd-place finish in 24:50.85. Mia Handran followed two places behind, taking 34th in 24:57.22.

Freshman Andriell Jayde Herrera recorded her first collegiate 6K mark, finishing 40th in 26:41.05. Kheyerah Bilger placed 46th in 27:50.73.

Amanda Willis lowered her collegiate 6K personal best with a time of 28:31.09 to finish 47th, improving on her previous best of 29:11.6. Taytum Stuhr rounded out Dickinson State's finishers in 51st, recording her first collegiate 6K mark in 29:34.29.

Dickinson State returns to competition Oct. 2 at the Jimmie Invitational in Jamestown, N.D.
