Cooper VanLuchene enters his first season as a graduate assistant with the Dickinson State baseball program in 2026-27. A native of Belgrade, Montana, VanLuchene moves into coaching after a four-year playing career with the Blue Hawks.

A right-handed pitcher, VanLuchene made 51 appearances during his Dickinson State career. He capped his senior season in 2026 with a 2.91 ERA over 17 appearances and was selected as Dickinson State's Frontier Conference Champion of Character. VanLuchene also served as one of the Blue Hawks' team captains during his senior season.

Before joining the Dickinson State coaching staff, VanLuchene gained coaching experience with the Belgrade Bandits American Legion baseball program, working with the organization's B team.

VanLuchene earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science through Dickinson State's sports management track.
