Mike Dahl is entering his seventh season as head baseball coach at Dickinson State University. Since taking over the program, Dahl has guided the Blue Hawks through continued growth and historic milestones, including the team’s first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in 2025.
During the 2024–2025 season, Dickinson State posted a 21–31 overall record and a 10–10 mark in NSAA play, placing second in the conference tournament. The Blue Hawks advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history. Under Dahl’s leadership, four players—Wyatt Wilharm, Luis Rodriguez, John Michael Gonzalez Jr., and Jacob Scully—earned Second Team All-NSAA honors. Throughout his tenure, Dahl has coached 18 All-Conference athletes, one Gold Glove recipient, 38 NSAA Scholar-Athletes, and seven NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes.
In 2023–2024, the Blue Hawks finished 13–35 (7–16 NSAA), while the 2022–2023 squad went 22–28 overall and 12–15 in the NSAA. The 2021–2022 team posted a 20–24 record and advanced four athletes to All-Conference recognition. In his first season (2020–2021), the team returned to competition after a two-year hiatus, finishing 15–25 and placing third in the NSAA Tournament.
Prior to Dickinson State, Dahl served as head coach at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In 2017, he led the Saints to the best record in program history (26 wins) and an appearance in the NSAA Tournament championship game. He was named NSAA Coach of the Year and coached five All-Conference athletes during his time there.
Dahl’s previous experience includes roles as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division II Northern State University, where he earned a master’s degree in sports performance and leadership. He also coached at Schreiner University (TX) and completed internships with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league affiliates in Charleston, West Virginia, and Bradenton, Florida.
Dahl graduated from the University of Charleston (WV) in 2010 with a degree in sports administration and a minor in business. He played collegiately as an outfielder.
He currently resides in Dickinson, North Dakota.
