Home of the Dickinson State Blue Hawks

Nate Kees is entering his 11th year of coaching and his fourth season with the Dickinson State football program. Kees currently coaches the Blue Hawk tight ends after spending his first two seasons at Dickinson State working with the defensive line.

During the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Kees helped Dickinson State capture its ninth and 10th consecutive North Star Athletic Association championships. Throughout his coaching career, he has coached two NAIA All-Americans, one conference Defensive Player of the Year and seven all-conference selections.

Kees transitioned to the offensive side of the ball in 2025, taking over the tight ends. His coaching approach emphasizes building strong relationships with student-athletes while promoting discipline, accountability and sportsmanship.

A native of Mondovi, Wisconsin, Kees moved to North Dakota in 2011. He resides in Dickinson with his wife, Tiffany. They have two adult children, Claira and Grant.
